UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. It was established in 2010 to accelerate progress towards the fulfillment of women’s rights and gender equality worldwide. UN Women works to strengthen gender-responsive laws, policies, and institutions, and to increase women’s leadership and participation in all spheres of life. The organization focuses on advancing women’s economic empowerment, ending violence against women and girls, and promoting women’s rights in humanitarian and fragile contexts.
UN Women also serves as a global champion for gender equality, working to raise awareness and mobilize action to eliminate gender-based discrimination and promote women’s rights. Through partnerships with governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector, UN Women strives to create a world where women and girls can fully participate in all aspects of society, free fromdiscrimination and violence. In this annual edition of KMUN, UN Women is one of the special committees which will follow THIMUN procedure and draft resolutions on agendas such as reproductive rights, gender inequities in the workplace. Inspired by the theme “Per Aspera Ad Astra”, this committee will assemble to achieve greatness through the struggles of the 21st century.

- Addressing the backsliding in sexually female people’s reproductive rights and gender equality with special emphasis on the overturning of the Roe v. Wade abortion law
- The issue of gender-based bias in corporate environments with regards to the gender pay gap and the possible establishment of quotas informed by gender
- Eliminating the sex-based disparity in medical research with special emphasis on inequality in testing pools
